“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.                                 John 15:1-8 (NKJV)

Children’s Ministry

Striving to teach big truths so small hearts, love God, worship God and learn to serve God

We strive for…

• An effective ministry that impacts the lives of children and parents
• Our children learning big and deep spiritual truths, giving them a foundation to build upon. Our goal is to see them come to an understanding; not just with their mind, but in their heart.
• To provide parents with support and materials that encourages them to take responsibility and initiative for the spiritual growth of their child/children. To assist in their efforts to teach and disciple their child/children.

Philosophy of Children’s Ministry

Responsibility of Parents: Parents are charged with the responsibility of raising their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. They are to train them and teach them in the way they are to go. It is ultimately the parent’s responsibility to love, encourage and shepherd their child’s heart.

Responsibility of the Church: The church has a responsibility to encourage, train and equip parents for this ministry to their children. These efforts will be lead through our Adult Ministries.

The Children’s Ministry is to come along side parents and support them in their efforts to teach, train, discipline and disciple their children. This will be accomplished Sunday mornings through teaching doctrinal truths, a modeling of life & conduct, helping students read and memorize scripture and explore the excitement of the Bible. In addition, we will help facilitate the parent’s responsibility for the spiritual growth of their children. Each week parents will be provided take home material that guides them in Biblical discussions with their children and helps them and their children to memorize scripture together.
Each week we strive to teach big truths so small hearts love God, worship God and learn to serve God. The purpose of teach knowledge is to transform the heart. Although we want to cultivate an environment that is fun, we cannot compete with the flare of the world. Therefore, we will not work to make each week bigger and better entertainment. We desire to see children realize the deep fulfillment of Scripture and the Joy of Christ. We will work in such a way that the Holy Spirit will grab their attention so we don’t have too!We have a lot of fun and exiting things taking place.
Currently we are using a curriculum titled He Established a Testimony from Children Desiring God. Their website provides the following synopsis. “God has testified of His glorious deeds and mighty power. This curriculum explores God’s greatness by noting key themes found chronologically throughout the Old Testament. Bible stories are not written out; teachers prepare the lesson through the study of scripture using a list of key themes, opening illustrations, and application questions to acquaint children with a great God whose character never changes.”
