What is the Gospel

The gospel is life. It is the glory of God; it is what we hope for, live for, are strengthened by, preach, teach and commend to you.

And Here’s Why

The gospel means “good news.” To understand what is good about it, you need to understand that without the gospel there is no ultimate joy anywhere in the universe. God created us to enjoy Him. He is the source of all life, happiness, peace, pleasure and freedom. However, despite all the warnings of God, man chose not to follow Him. Therefore, His wrath and anger remain on us; we are no longer able to fellowship and enjoy his presence. He has removed himself from us.

The “Good News”

The gospel unites us back into the presence of God. Back to the place where we are created to be. In His presence there is the fullness of joy. God being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which He loved us, made us alive together with Christ. He sent Jesus to live a life that we are not capable of living. When we receive Jesus he credits us with His perfect sinless life; a life that did not wander from God. He makes a trade with us. Our sin for His righteousness. Through the gospel, we have been reconciled back to God. Restored to eternal life with God.
